Biography
Name: Gabriel Marshall-Thomson
DOB: 27th October 1986
Age: 19
Location: London, UK
Family: One older brother, Alex.
Gabriel has been acting since the age of four. In his younger years, the family would holiday in Devon where he would take part in plays called the Golliards. His first TV performance was a Frosties commercial at the age of 5, which he says he'd rather forget. Gabriel comes from a family that seems to have the business well under their belts. His mum is a choreographer and his dad used to be an actor also. Gabriel has one brother who is two years older than him.
'Great Expectations' was his first major TV role, on the BBC. Before this he had small parts in Painted Lady and Joseph. It was the casting director of Painted Lady that thought Gabriel would be good for the role of Young Pip in Great Expecations. After this, Gabriel took on the part of Pinocchio in "The New Adventures of Pinocchio".
'The New Adventure's of Pinocchio' was released in cinemas in 1998, produced by New Line (the same guys that made Lord of the Rings etc).
It was in 2000 that Gabriel would win the role that would make him most recognisable for in the UK. The BBC's 'My Family' began airing on Tuesday nights on BBC1, after a huge initial success, the show was moved to a prime time spot on Friday evenings at 8:30 where it stayed for the next four years. 'My Family' 'finished' in 2004 due to the departure of Robert who played Gabriel's character's dad, however, a sixth series has just been made.
In 2001, Gabriel stared alongside Jude Law in 'Enemy at the Gates' which was a worldwide box office smash. The film is one of my favourites, but I wouldn't reccomend watching if you have problems seperating film fiction from reality!
At the moment, as My Family has ceased production, Gabriel is concentrating on his education (drama school), but is busy auditioning and more roles will be on the way. And gabrielthomson.com is the place to find out first.
